Technological tools for efficient telecommuting - Google Hangouts Meet!

In our current context, where more and more employees, educators, and students need to work remotely, cloud technologies developed by Google, Zoho, and Microsoft enable businesses and schools to stay connected and productive more than ever before.

G Suite and G Suite for Education comprise a collection of productivity applications that assist businesses and educators in collaborating, regardless of their location.

Cloud Lion is committed to helping students and their teachers continue learning outside of school. As many countries have closed their schools, hundreds of thousands of students have started using Hangouts Meet, a video conferencing tool accessible to all G Suite users. Additionally, many of them are using Google Classroom to access course materials and continue their education from home. As more and more companies adjust their work-from-home policies and implement restricted travel plans, we are assisting the business community in Quebec and Montreal to continue meeting face-to-face safely and remotely.

Google Cloud has rolled out free access to the advanced video conferencing capabilities of Hangouts Meet for all G Suite and G Suite for Education customers. This allows for:

• Larger meetings, with up to 250 participants per call.

• Live streaming with a capacity of up to 100,000 viewers.

• The ability to record meetings on Google Drive.

   

These features are typically only available in the Enterprise ($34 CAD / user / month) and Enterprise for Education editions of G Suite. They are now available at no extra cost to all customers until July 1, 2020. Google continues to enhance its infrastructure to meet the increased demand for Hangouts Meet, ensuring streamlined and reliable access to the service throughout this period.
